This image served as the background of the poster for the two-day tribute to the Kallimartyrs.

The photograph depicts Christina herself. Its execution and direction are by Stefanos Papazapraidis, who drew inspiration from her literary work. The image was used as the background for the poster of the two-day tribute commemorating the “Kallimartyres” — a group of women from Ioannina who were drowned in the lake in the early 19th century, on the orders of Ali Pasha, together with the historical figure of Kyra Frosyni. The same photograph now also serves as the cover of Christina I. Tzialla’s book “OUI: Tropaia ApoTropaia | Epic Fantasy Stories”, published by Aparsis Editions.

The term “Kallimartyrs” etymologically derives from the neologism kallos (beauty) and martyrs, meaning “martyrs of beauty.”
