This initiative has been organized and implemented by KALLIERGON syn since 2023, as a stance of zero tolerance and active awareness-raising in response to a long-standing social scourge.
The launch of the initiative took place symbolically on November 25, a date designated by the United Nations as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, underscoring both its international scope and its value-based orientation.
Within the framework, women from different parts of the world—including figures recognizable to the wider public—participate voluntarily in photographic portraits, wearing jewelry made of silver dragees, a material rich in symbolism related to memory, fragility, and resilience. These portraits are accompanied by personal texts written by the participants, presented in Greek and English, with the aim of achieving the highest possible level of accessibility and inclusion. In the future, the initiative aspires to present this material through additional accessible formats, such as videos in sign language.
The digital presentation of the initiative is gradually enriched and regularly updated. It may be made available free of charge for non-profit use, following consultation with interested organizations, with the shared goal of raising awareness, fostering education, and disseminating its message. This section serves as a foundation for the further development and networking of the initiative, primarily through in-person meetings, collaborations, and interactive exchanges.
NOTE: The participants selected to date are women with whom the KALLIERGON syn team has established meaningful contact over time, recognizing their stance in life and, in many cases, their activist engagement with issues of gender-based violence. The selection process is carried out by the team and evolves gradually, taking into account the overall availability of time and resources dedicated to the initiative.
The KALLIERGON syn team sincerely thanks all the women who pose voluntarily, enhancing our cause!
For the story about jewelry made of silver confetti, you can listen to the recorded file below, presented at the 1st Pamvotis Festival, in anticipation of the release of Christina Tzialla's new fiction book, historically based, titled "OUYI, Tropaea From Tropaea". This file is included in one of its chapters, as well as all the texts accompanying the following videos.
