"My name is..."

The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women in Kalamaria

Organized by Municipality of Kalamaria

A new performance by Christina Tzialla addressing femicide titled "ΤAΜΑΤΑ", based on an original text and direction by herself. The text is heard recorded in her voice.

Costume Design and Construction: Leonidas Giannopoulos

Scenic Elements: Vasiliki Kateri

Sound Production, Sound Design & Recording: Arsen Kanatsis

Portrait Photography: Nikos Dalézios

The "tamata" are promises or offerings made by believers in a religious tradition, often in cases where they wish to thank a deity or seek help for a specific request. In Greek tradition, they are often associated with the Orthodox Christian faith. Typically, believers take on vows when their wishes have been fulfilled or when they want to express their gratitude for a positive development in their lives.

Below is the recorded text that was heard during the performance. At certain points, the local dialect of Christina's birthplace, Ioannina, is used. As a cover here, you see a detail from the wedding dress designed and sewn especially for the performance by Leonidas Giannopoulos, as a generous sponsorship. Decorative details made of silver candies are also visible here on this part of the dress.

Below are related links to the theme of performance

Listen to the story "FROSSYNES" that Christina Tzialla wrote, and narrates here, about how the jewelry became silver candies,

starting from 17:26 till the end.
