The major pioneering cultural initiative titled "Poiitikoi Dromoi" (Poetic Pathways), organized by KALLIERGON syn in Kalamata, took place from October 11 to November 15, 2025. Entry and participation were free for everyone.
This alternative cultural initiative combined poetry with the exploration of public spaces, encouraging participants to interact with their environment through art while simultaneously promoting literacy and Greek literature.
The project was inspired by the visual artist and co-founder of KALLIERGON syn, Vasiliki Kateri. It combined poetry with the exploration of public space, encouraging participants to engage interactively with their environment through art, while also promoting reading literacy and Greek literature.
The project constituted the raw material for a cultural fermentation, where all the ingredients of the recipe came from the people themselves. It was based on the belief that we are all part of what happens around us. Through the "Poiitikoi Dromoi" project, the KALLIERGON syn team inspired and created the conditions for a large-scale cultural surprise in places where art does not easily penetrate—our everyday lives. The initiative unfolded as a large collective canvas on which everyone could add their own brushstroke.
The project offered a unique opportunity to cultivate creativity and cultural sensitivity while promoting collaboration, inclusion, and communication among people. It provided new momentum for thematic tourism and the local economy. By integrating poetry into everyday life, it strengthened the cultural identity of the region and created new opportunities for artistic expression. Poetry became accessible to a broader, non-specialized audience and highlighted, in an innovative and practical way, the collaborative and communicative relationship between art and entrepreneurship.
In addition to promoting Greek poetry and culture, the project sought to create a broader platform for the exchange and recognition of poetry at the European level. In a dedicated section, organizations and individuals from abroad—primarily philhellenes and members of the Greek diaspora—participated, contributing to the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and cultural narratives related to poets and poetic traditions from their respective cities. Through this collaboration, the initiative functioned as a bridge between cultures, promoting the wider visibility and recognition of Greek poetry and culture in the international cultural landscape. Participants became ambassadors of Greek literature while contributing to the development of a network for the exchange of ideas and cultural stories, strengthening the sense of a global community around poetry, the Greek language, and cultural identity.
The project was held under the auspices and support of the Ministry of Culture, the Holy Metropolis of Messinia, and the Municipality of Kalamata, with the support of the Kalamata Community and in collaboration with the Messinia Chamber of Commerce. Media support was provided by ERT Kalamata and ERT3, while local media outlets, associations, and educational institutions also contributed to its implementation. The main sponsor was UHU.
Poetry knocked on the doors of the city—and the city responded.

The project, centered on poetry, was originally conceived in March 2020 in Kalamata by "Kalliergon", our ancestral figure. Its initial implementation was interrupted by the outbreak of the pandemic. Information about the project's journey and development remains available through our YouTube channel.
